Google location search and saved addresses

Google location search helps you find the right address or business while creating events and saving account addresses.

Availability

Manual location entry is available to every Dainvo account.

Google-powered location search is available on paid plans and development accounts. If the Google search button is disabled or missing, sync your license in Settings > Account or check that your account has access to the Google Locations feature.

Add a Google location to an event

  1. Create or edit an event.
  2. Go to Details > Location.
  3. Type a location manually, or use the search button at the right side of the location field.
  4. Search by street address, place name, or business name.
  5. Choose the correct result on the map.
  6. Confirm the location.
  7. Save the event.

The selected address is placed in the normal event Location field. Dainvo also keeps the selected Google place details so it can reopen the same location in Google Maps.

Open an event in Google Maps

After a Google location is selected, use the Google Maps icon beside the event location to open that place in Google Maps.

If an event only has manually typed location text, the Google Maps icon may not appear because Dainvo does not have a confirmed Google place for that text.

Save home and work addresses

  1. Open Settings > Account.
  2. Find Home address or Work address.
  3. Use Search to find the address with Google.
  4. Select the correct result.
  5. Dainvo saves the address to your Dainvo account.

You can replace either address by searching again, or remove it with Clear.

What Dainvo saves

For selected Google locations, Dainvo saves the formatted address, Google place ID, map URL, latitude, longitude, and selection time.

Dainvo keeps the plain event Location text separate from the Google place details. Stored events do not run Google lookups in the background, and Dainvo does not refresh saved event locations on app startup.

Google powers the search and map preview. Your search terms and map usage are handled by Google according to Google's terms and privacy policies.

Troubleshooting

If search is unavailable, open Settings > Account and sync your license. Google location search requires a paid plan or development account.

If a business name does not show the result you expect, add the city, state, province, or postal code to the search.

If the wrong place was selected, clear the event location and search again.

If Google search is not working, type the location manually. Manual location text can still be saved on any plan.
