Getting started with Dainvo
Dainvo is a desktop planning app for calendars, tasks, meetings, and focused work blocks. It is currently in alpha, so some workflows may change as the app improves.
What Dainvo is for
Use Dainvo when you want one place to see appointments, scheduled work, local tasks, synced tasks, and larger planning blocks.
- Events are meetings, appointments, calls, and normal calendar commitments.
- Tasks are work items that can be completed.
- Task blocks are scheduled time for one task.
- Buckets are time blocks that can hold several tasks.
- Integrations connect outside calendars, task systems, email flags, and meeting providers.
A bucket is useful when you want to reserve time for a group of work without placing every task separately on the calendar.
Main areas
The calendar is the main workspace. Use it to view your day, week, or month, create new items, drag work into time slots, and open details.
The sidebars help you move quickly:
- The left side can show calendars and task lists.
- The right side shows details for the selected event, task, or bucket when the details panel is open.
- Settings controls account connections, defaults, reminders, appearance, shortcuts, and sync behavior.
A basic planning flow
- Connect the calendars, task accounts, email accounts, and meeting providers you use.
- Set default event and task calendars in Settings.
- Click or drag on the calendar to create an event, bucket, or task.
- Use buckets for grouped work sessions.
- Drag tasks into buckets or onto the calendar when you want to schedule them.
- Use the right details panel to review, edit, complete, or remove items.
- Use Sync now or Reconnect in Settings > Accounts if a provider needs attention.
Current alpha note
Projects are disabled for now. Buckets remain available and do not require projects. Documents and files are planned for a later version.
